Bcn Dynamics

Barcelona Dynamics is a collection of critical maps of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area designed for updating the Master Urban Plan (PDU).

Based on cadastral information and other sources of business activity data, this diagnosis quantifies socio-demographic, economic and morphological aspects of the region to provide a starting point for the new urban plan.

The maps reveal how the complexity of the mixture of uses, constructions and business activities generate a vibrant metropolis. These different dynamics can be understood according to the parameters of density, time and diversity.

In addition to the cartographic analysis included in the Metrópolis Barcelona exhibition catalogue,
we also a developed a tool for the open-access publishing of the data generated.
