Poblenou Heritage

As part of the Oliva Artés site of the Museum of History of Barcelona, we have developed an interactive cartography that showcases the urban evolution of Poble Nou industrial heritage.

The different industrial sites (existing or not) are shown in a time-line to illustrate in several historical periods what the so-called “Catalan Manchester” has become today. We have combined georeferenced ancient cartographies and information from the Architectural Heritage Catalog. The interactive installation also provides historic photographs from Poble Nou Archives, along with current ones, to observe and report the changes in the buildings and their surroundings.
